Bandipora, Nov 26 (KNO): Senior Congress leader and MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat on Tuesday said that he firmly believes that the Central government will uphold its promises made to the people on the restoration of constitutional rights and guarantees to Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of Constitution Day commemoration function in Bandipora, Bhat, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that he believes that the Centre won't renege on its promise made in the Parliament and in Kashmir as well. He said that emotions and feelings of the people also need to be respected. “Popular government that has been elected by the people of Jammu and Kashmir should also be given due respect. This is a democratic country and I believe the Centre will reciprocate well,” he said. Congress today held public meetings at district headquarters across the Union Territory to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. The grand old party also held a protest at Congress Bhawan Srinagar, demanding full restoration of statehood and constitutional guarantees to Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
